Funding your Trust: Royalties, Patents, and Trademarks

After your Trust is signed, you must take steps to fund it with your Trust Property.  If you do not fund the Trust with your Trust Property, the Trust may not be effective, and your estate may have to go through probate upon your death.

Whoever pays the royalties can advise you what is required to transfer the interest to your Trust. Consult the United States Copyright Office for copyrights, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office for patents and trademarks.
